Which Yale burglar alarms no longer receive SMS notifications?

Overview

As announced by Yale at the end of 2025, SMS notifications are no longer supported for Sync Smart Home Alarms. This service has stopped on the 8th of January 2026. Yale users with these burglar alarms will no longer receive SMS text notifications, configured by their Yale Home app and instead, will only be able to receive emails and push notifications.

What devices are impacted?

It looks like the whole family of Sync Smart Home Alarm kits have stopped supporting SMS notifications.

This includes Yale IA-310, IA-311, IA-320, IA-320A, IA-320G, IA-330, IA-335, IA-340, IA-345 devices.

The main difference between these kits is the amount of accessories included and also the type of sensors and monitoring equipment e.g. higher end range will have cameras, smoke detectors and so on.

The common device between all of these kits is the hub that connects to your Wi-Fi and your Yale Home app. This allows you to remotely arm/disarm your burglar alarm, see possible faults with the security system, monitor history of events, add different users and more importantly, receive email notifications and in-app push alerts.

What should I do if I want to be notified by SMS text or phone call for my Yale alarm?

The bad news is that if you have IA-310, IA-311, IA-320, IA-320A, IA-320G, IA-330, IA-335, IA-340 or IA-345 Yale burglar kit, then unfortunately, you won't be able to receive SMS notifications or phone calls from Yale itself.

The good news is that I built Alarm Notifier and have been reliably using it for months now as an alternative notification service for my Yale IA-320 kit.

This service allows you to create an account here, add a unique email to your Yale Home app, then add your contact phone number to your Alarm Notifier account and configure notifications with greater control. You can receive SMS text notifications and phone call alerts for different types of events e.g. receive a phone call when the burglar alarm has been triggered, or get a text when your Yale alarm has been armed/disarmed.
