The Story Behind Alarm Notifier
A simple tool built from personal experience with Yale alarm app

👋 Hi, I'm Alex
I'm a software engineer based in London. I like to build tools and products that solve real world problems that I personally experience.
In the case of owning a Yale alarm, I had a few instances where my WiFi or mobile data was patchy, as a result, I would sometimes miss important push notifications or email alerts. At other times they would be delayed, which was a bit of a concern for me.
Since Yale decided to discontinue SMS alerts for their alarms in January 2026, I built my own solution that I felt would be useful not just for me but to others as well.
Alarm Notifier is a pretty simple tool, which allows you to add your contact number (as well as family/friends) and customise what events you want to be notified about - this functionality doesn't exist in the Yale app or outside of it. For example, you can get a phone call when your alarm is triggered, or decide that a family member might get a text notification when there is a window or door sensor contact break.
I am continuing to work on this project by adding more features but if you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to contact me here.
