Call alerting that gets answered
Alarm Notifier converts critical security alarm alerts into phone calls to real people. It works with the Yale Smart Living Alarm app and can escalate through multiple recipients. Include an optional SMS notification so everyone has quick context.
How it works
When the Yale Smart Living Alarm app reports a critical event, Alarm Notifier receives the security alarm alert and immediately places a call to your primary contact. If the call is not answered in the configured time, Alarm Notifier calls the next recipient on your escalation list. At the same time you can enable SMS notifications with a short summary and a link to the original event for added context.
Why calls cut through
- Humans answer ringing phones when push notifications get missed.
- Escalation ensures someone picks up if the first contact is busy.
- Configurable ring duration and retry attempts to suit your needs.
- Optional SMS alerting gives recipients quick context while the phone rings.
Setup in 2 minutes
- Add one or more recipients and set the call order.
- Pick which events should trigger call alerting.
- Enable SMS notifications if you want a text summary and link.
- Run a quick test call to verify everything works as expected.
Frequently asked questions
- Does this replace the Yale Smart Living Alarm app? No. It complements it by reaching humans via calls and optional SMS notifications while the app continues to manage devices and history.
- Will calls bypass Do Not Disturb? Calls behave like normal phone calls. You can use your phone settings, favorites, or allowed contacts to tailor behavior.
